The altars we build before God become places where he alters our lives.

Abraham built altars after significant encounters with God. They marked the promise God gave, the intimacy of calling on his name, a permanent return to the land, and the lived possession of what God had promised.

An altar is more than church furniture or a physical location. It is an intentional encounter in which a person gives God full attention, remembers his work, and lets the Holy Spirit reach the deepest parts of life.

The rocks formed by pressure, loss, upheaval, and long erosion do not have to become burdens, walls, or weapons. Offered to God, they can become the material of a redemptive altar.
